2018 Master's World Cup Ski Trail Update Meeting and Public Hearing A meeting will be held Thursday January 19th at 6:00 PM at the Theodore Wirth Chalet Fireplace Room, 1301 Theodore Wirth Parkway, to discuss the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and Loppet's proposed modifications to temporary and permanent ski trail modifications to support the 2018 Master's World Cup. Contingent on certain trail improvement, the World Masters Association awarded the Loppet Foundation and the MPRB a bid to hold the 2018 Masters World Cup at Theodore Wirth Regional Park. The Master's World Cup is an international ski race that will attract visitors from around the world to the Twin Cities with Minneapolis being the sixth US City to host the Masters World Cup Event. The contingent improvements at Wirth include the extension of trails to Twin Lake and Sweeney Lake in an area known as the "Back 40" of Theodore Wirth Regional Park. The MPRB Board of Commissioners will review the proposed alignment as an amendment to the Theodore Wirth Regional Park Master Plan at a public hearing on Wednesday February 1 at 6:30 PM time certain at MPRB Headquarters at 2117 West River Road, Minneapolis. All are welcome to attend this public meeting to ask questions, share ideas, comments and concerns.
