Metropolitan Council Notice of Public Meetings and Public Hearing on proposed changes to Route 9, 604, 649 and 675 Metro Transit, an operating division of the Metropolitan Council, will receive public comment, host public meetings and conduct a public hearing on proposed concept plan produced with the West End and Route 9 Transit Study. The proposed changes are intended simplify Route 9 west of downtown Minneapolis, improve service reliability, improve route performance by eliminating low-ridership segments, and improve service to the growing high-density job and residential opportunities in the West End development near Highway 100 and I-394. The affected route areas are Route 9 west of downtown Minneapolis, Route 604 east of Louisiana Transit Center, Route 649 and Route 675 east of Louisiana Transit Center. These changes would take effect in March 2017. All interested persons are encouraged to attend the public meetings to learn about the proposed plan, ask questions, and offer comments. Those attending the public meetings may register in advance to speak by calling the Council at 651-602-1140.
