PUBLIC NOTICE MINNEHAHA CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) will hold a public hearing at the meeting of the Board of Managers on Thursday, February 23 at 6:45 p.m. to receive public comment on the potential fee acquisition of parcels 650230600 and 650230700 in Victoria in Carver County. The acquisition would preserve shoreline and bluff along Lake Wassermann, address phosphorus loading from a large wetland on the site, and provide public access and education opportunities. The District is working with Victoria City staff to explore opportunities to achieve City park and recreation goals on site through co-planning and shared site ownership and management. The estimated purchase price for the acquisition is $875,000 financed through MCWD's ad valorem tax levy. Approximately 4.19% of the levy will be allocated to Carver County and 95.81% of the levy will be allocated to Hennepin County. This acquisition is part of the MCWD's Land Conservation and Restoration Program, which works with other local units of government, private business and residents to protect water quality and ecological resources within the MCWD.
