PUBLIC NOTICE MINNEHAHA CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) will hold a Public Hearing at the Meeting of the Board of Managers on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 6:45 p.m. for the approval of grant funding for the City of Edina Street Reconstruction Project and the City of Mound Stormwater and Shoreline Improvement Project. The City of Edina has applied for funding through the MCWD Cost Share Program for stormwater management improvements associated with the W. 54th Street Reconstruction Project in Edina. The City of Mound has applied for stormwater management improvements associated with the construction of a stormwater diversion structure, bioretention basin and shoreline restoration at Carlson Park in Mound. The proposed practices exceed regulatory requirements and will provide education and demonstration value. This public hearing is required because the District is considering funding municipal projects where the city will be taking on the long-term maintenance. The proposed amount of grant funding for the City of Edina project is $15,919. The proposed grant funding for the City of Mound is $80,235. The program is funded by a tax on real property throughout the MCWD that is allocated between Hennepin and Carver Counties on the basis of tax capacity.
