PUBLIC NOTICE MINNEHAHA CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) Board of Managers will hold a Public Hearing at the Meeting of the Board of Managers on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 6:45 p.m. for the Methodist Hospital Wetland and Floodplain Enhancement Project. The project is located 6500 Excelsior Blvd., in the City of St. Louis Park along the Minnehaha Creek Greenway. The purpose of the proposed project is to enhance the ecology of wetlands on site, to increase floodplain storage, and to improve the flood resilience of Methodist Hospital. Park Nicollet will bear the capital construction costs of the proposed project, with MCWD assuming vegetation management of the site estimated to cost $4,500 annually. MCWD costs would be funded through the ad valorem tax levy established by MCWD for its land restoration fund. Approximately 4.19% of the ad valorem costs will be allocated to Carver County and 95.81% will be allocated to Hennepin County. This project is intended to address water quality problems and natural resource concerns within the boundaries of MCWD. If the Board finds that the project will be conducive to public health, will promote the general welfare, and is consistent with the MCWD Comprehensive Water Resources Management Plan, it will order and formally establish the project at the September 24, 2015 Board Meeting. The meeting will be held at the MCWD Offices, 15320 Minnetonka Boulevard, Minnetonka, MN 55345. If you have any questions regarding this meeting, please call James Wisker at 952-641-4509
