Metropolitan Council Notice of advisory committee vacancies The Metropolitan Council is encouraging residents to apply for several openings on Council advisory committees. Priority will be given to applications received by 5 p.m., Monday, July 17. Two spots are open on the Council's Equity Advisory Committee, which advises the Metropolitan Council in its work to advance equity in the Twin Cities metropolitan region. o District H including the southern three-quarters of Dakota County and southeastern Scott County, within Council Districts 15 and 16. It will fill the remainder of the term that expires in January 2020. o One at-large member, to fill out the remainder of the term which expires in January 2018. 2. Two spots are open on the Council's Land Use Advisory Committee, which advices the Metropolitan Council in its work on regional land use and comprehensive planning. o District 3 including several communities west and south of Lake Minnetonka, to fill out the remainder of a term that expires in January 2019. o District 4 including most of Carver County, to fill out the remainder of a term that expires in January 2019. 3. One spot is open on the Metropolitan Parks and Open Space Commission, which advises the Metropolitan Council on long-range plans for the metro area's system of regional parks, park reserves, and trails.
